Edo Civil Society Organizations Rally Behind 2023 Alaghodaro Summit

In a show of support for the exemplary leadership and investment-friendly reforms in Edo State, civil society organizations in the state have enthusiastically endorsed the upcoming 2023 Alaghodaro Summit. The summit is scheduled to take place in Benin City from November 8 to 12, 2023.

These organizations have pledged their unwavering commitment to actively participate in the summit while praising Governor Obaseki’s transformative policies that have created a conducive environment for businesses to flourish, attracted both local and foreign investments, and improved the overall welfare of the people, the groups expressed their admiration for the significant economic growth and development witnessed under his administration.

The Alaghodaro Summit, in its seventh edition, is an annual event organized by the private sector in Edo State to commemorate the governor’s time in office.

It serves as a platform to showcase the state’s remarkable reforms, investments, and strategic alliances, resulting in its transformation into a thriving industrial hub.

Themed “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future,” this year’s summit promises to be monumental. Speaking on behalf of the civil society groups, Monday Osaretin, leader of the Edo Civil Society Coalition for Progress and Development, expressed their confidence and eagerness to partake in the upcoming edition.

Osaretin highlighted the consistent success of past summits in shaping insights and assessing the government’s efforts to attract private sector investments and improve the lives of the people.

He stated, “Since its inception in 2017, the Alaghodaro Summit has continuously achieved remarkable milestones. It has evolved into a think-tank, influencing the government’s strategies to drive private sector inflow and enhance the well-being of Edo people. We have participated in previous editions and have always been impressed. This year will be no exception, as we will enthusiastically gather in large numbers to celebrate our dynamic and proactive governor, who has consistently prioritized the welfare and accelerated development of the majority.”
