Edo Govt Set to Carryout Topographic, Soil Tests Survey at New Town Site

In a strategic move to lay the foundation for the new town project at Irhirhi-Obazagbon-Ogheghe Road, the Edo State Government has mobilized a team of experts to conduct vital topographic surveys and soil tests.

Led by Commissioner Chris Osa Nehikhare, the initiative aims to gather crucial data to guide planning activities in the area and ensure sustainable development.

Commissioner Nehikhare announced that a verification exercise for individuals claiming ownership of property in the designated area will kick off on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Edo State New Town Development Authority (ESNTDA) Office. He emphasized the importance of interested parties presenting their documentation, including building approvals, to validate their claims.

He stated, “In order to gather data for planning activities in the area, a team of experts has started topographic surveys and soil tests at the new town site at Irhirhi-Obazagbon-Ogheghe Road.

“The Edo State New Town Development Authority (ESNTDA) Office will host the verification exercise at the site on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. We are calling on the public to come forward with their documentation, including building approvals, if they have any claims to landed property in the area.”

“The team will be taking samples for the topographic survey and soil tests that would inform the siting of high-rise buildings and other multi-story developments in the area,” the commissioner stated.

In order to ensure proper verification, he asked the public who claimed landed property in the area “to proceed in a systematic manner and bring the following: Two passport photos, identification documentation, title documents, an authorized registered survey plan, and photocopies of all originals are required; originals will only be viewed and returned, and clients’ signatures on authorization letters are required for those who represent clients.”
