Benin City is set to host the Nigerian Army’s 2025 Captain to Major written promotion examination, scheduled to take place from May 12th to 16th. Lt. Samson Akindutire, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), announced the development in a statement released on Tuesday.
The examination, organized by the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), will be held at the Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium within NASST. According to Lt. Akindutire, the exercise is a crucial requirement for officers on the Direct Regular Commission (DRC) pathway aiming for promotion to the rank of Major.
“The promotion exam is part of the Army’s efforts to entrench professionalism and merit in its career progression system,” Lt. Akindutire stated. The examination underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to ensuring a rigorous and standardized evaluation process for its officers, emphasizing competence and skill as key determinants for advancement within the ranks.
