The Benin Traditional Council has taken a decisive step by suspending two prominent chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, affects Chief John Igiehon, the Izuwako of Benin, and Chief Aimuiukpomonyako Oghogho, the Oyenmwensoba of Benin.
According to the Benin Traditional Council, the suspension is a result of the chiefs’ prolonged absence from the palace, leading to their inability to fulfill their responsibilities.
The council has advised the public to be cautious of individuals who are no longer part of the palace’s functioning chiefs.
