Benin Residents Applaud Tinubu, Okpebholo for Sapele Road Repair

Residents and traders along Sapele Road in Benin City are expressing their appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo for the recently completed repairs on the long-abandoned road.

According to a statement released by Dr. Patrick Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the reconstruction has brought significant relief to the community after years of hardship caused by the road’s dilapidated condition.

Residents report that the poor state of the road had severely impacted daily life, hindering business activities and deterring customers from the area. Transporter Amadi Great lauded Governor Okpebholo’s efforts, stating that the road was once impassable, even for the previous governor whose vehicle became stuck.

Trader Mrs. Romary Obazee noted the marked improvement, stating that customers now find it easier to access businesses, and the transportation of goods has become significantly less problematic.

She also mentioned an increase in sales. Mrs. Obazee urged the government to expedite the completion of the remaining sections, particularly with the approaching rainy season.

Mr. Richard Erahbor, a battery and car accessories dealer, recalled the frequent flooding that rendered the road impassable. He confirmed that the improved road has positively impacted business. Vulcaniser Mr. Osaro Nosa added that the enhanced road conditions have attracted more customers and increased daily income for traders in the area.

Residents also commended Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, and Governor Okpebholo for their personal involvement in inspecting the project, ensuring quality workmanship and responsible use of public funds.
