The Edo state deputy governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shuaibu has organized a dinner session in honour of Akoko-Edo Local Government health team and others.
The dinner which held in Benin city, the State Capital was in recognition of their work of excellence in the immunisation against the Covid 19 pandemic.
In attendance, were the commissioner for health, Professor Obehi Akoria, permanent secretaries, heads of the various local government administrations among others.
The dinner session was sequel to the presentation of a cheque of N1.8million to Akoko-Edo LGA, the overall winner, for reward of excellence, dedication to duty and hard-work by the State government, following her number one position on covid-19 and routine immunisation across the state.
The cheque was received on behalf of Akoko-Edo LGA, by its Head of local government administration and Acting Chairman, Dr Innocent Alenoghena, flanked by the head of local health authority (LHA), Dr Iraoya Howics and local immunisation officer, Mrs Stella K Ajibola, in Benin.
A guest speaker at the ceremony disclosed that three local governments were selected for the event noting that Akoko-Edo LGA had consistently maintained her number one position over others, adding that the federal government has said there is no more covid-19 in the country.
On his part, Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shuaibu appreciated all that were present, stating that the dinner session was at the instance of the state government to encourage and reward hard work.
