Edo Celebrates Dr. Enabulele as World Medical Association’s president

Dr. Osahon Enabulele received congratulations from the Edo State government upon being appointed President of the World Medical Association.

The Edo State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Obehi Akoria, praised the eminent physician in a statement for bringing Edo State, Nigeria, and Africa to the attention of the world.

Prof Akoria stated, “I am happy with the historic appointment of our very own Dr. Osahon Enabulele to the position of President of the World Medical Association.

“I would want to express my sincere congratulations to an exceptional ambassador from the University of Benin, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, and the Nigeria Medical Association for making history and elevating Edo State, Nigeria, and Africa.

“This has come at an auspicious time for us as healthcare practitioners and leaders in Nigeria—a time when we are grappling with the negative ripple effects of brain drain and with negative stereotypes about ‘home grown’ medical practitioners.

“The election and installation of Dr. Enabulele as President of the World Medical Association ought to fortify the determination of those of us who continue to have faith in Nigeria and the medical field in our nation.

“We look forward to a time, under the direction of Dr. Osahon Enabulele as President of the World Medical Association, when more physicians will be content, feel supported, and feel safe as they strive to improve public health locally, nationally, and worldwide. Healthcare practitioners, doctors in particular, face numerous challenges. Warmest congrats, “Lion Killer.””
