The Edo State Government has temporarily suspended all activities in the disputed area between Iguomo and Ikhuenbo communities in the Uhunmwode Local Government Area. The government has taken this step while efforts are underway to find a lasting solution to the dispute.
The Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., authorized the directive and called upon the security agencies to enforce compliance.
Expressing the official stance, Ogie stated, “The Edo State Government, in the interest of all community members and developers, hereby imposes a ban on all activities in the contentious area between Iguomo and Ikhuenbo communities in the Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State. This prohibition will be in effect until a resolution is reached.”
He further emphasized the government’s expectations, declaring, “All security agencies, particularly the Divisional Police Officer, Okhuaihe, are instructed to ensure strict enforcement of this directive.”
