A devastating motor accident occurred on Saturday along the Benin-Auchi Road, leaving several people injured.
Governor Monday Okpebholo, who was passing by the scene, sprang into action to rescue the victims.
The accident involved four vehicles, including three commercial mini-buses and a Toyota Venza, which allegedly drove against traffic. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with many people bleeding profusely and bystanders recording videos instead of offering help.
Without hesitation, Governor Okpebholo ordered his security vehicles to be used as emergency transport to rush the injured to the hospital. He personally supervised the rescue efforts, ensuring the victims received urgent medical attention.
The governor’s swift action drew praise from eyewitnesses, who commended his compassion and leadership. One witness noted that before the governor’s arrival, people were only taking pictures and videos, but he took charge and ensured the victims were rescued.
The governor remained at the scene until he was assured that the victims were safely on their way to a medical facility. His intervention has been widely appreciated, showcasing his commitment to the welfare of his people.
