Edo Govt Embark on Roads Repair and Maintenance across LGAs

To help its residents live better lives, the Edo State Government has started repairing and maintaining the state’s 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs)’ roads.

The government hired contractors who have begun construction on roads in the State capital, taking advantage of the dry season.

Speaking to reporters in Benin City, Obaseki reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the physical infrastructure, which will enhance peoples’ quality of life.

The governor stated, “This will further ensure improved business environment and open up more areas to economic activities.” He also noted that his administration will continue to support investments in infrastructure development, enhancing the state’s internal road network and placing a strong emphasis on proper design and contractor supervision.

“We are going to be grading most of the earth roads in every local government area in the state as part of our strategy this dry season,” he said.

“We acknowledge that certain internal roads are inadequate, but we are taking action as contractors have been assigned to work on the roads from now until the end of the dry season.”

“We will make sure that the majority of the roads throughout Edo’s eighteen Local Government Areas are motorable,” he continued.
