“Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this extremely challenging period.“The Edo State government acknowledges the critical need to prioritize the safety and welfare of our residents and those who pass through our state. We are profoundly disturbed by the repeated accidents at the problematic spot. Even though the road is a Trunk A Road, we have already initiated steps to rectify the situation and prevent it from happening again. We are collaborating with the Federal Government to put in place enduring solutions that will effectively address the current issues caused by the problematic spot on the road.“The Edo State government, through the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, is fully dedicated to discovering a permanent solution and preventing such regrettable accidents in the future”.">

The government of Edo State has expressed its condolences to the victims of the unfortunate incident at the Ovia River bridge, pledging to take measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

In a public announcement, the Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Engr. Ethan Uzamere, stated: “We have allocated resources to install road signs at that location that will be clearly visible even at night, among other measures.

“Traveling on Federal Highways for work, recreation, or to connect with family and friends should never be a cause for our valued citizens to lose their lives. Therefore, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who tragically lost their lives in the accident that occurred yesterday at the Ovia River Bridge on the Benin-Lagos Express Road.
