Edo Govt Sets January 9 as Official Resumption Date for Schools

In an official statement released by the Edo State Government, academic activities in both public and private schools across the state will resume on January 9th, 2023. The announcement was made by the Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Edwin Osawe.

The resumption date serves as a subtle notification to all public school executive principals, school heads, boards, and private school owners/proprietors, mandating them to ensure that classrooms and school environments are clean, safe, and prepared for the commencement of academic activities.

The Functioning Permanent Secretary emphasized that the official date for schools’ resumption across Edo State is January 9th, 2023, urging all public and private schools to adhere to this directive.

“To this end schools should ensure that their classrooms and school environment are clean, safe, and ready for the commencement of academic activities.

“We expect that all public and private schools across Edo State adhere to this official date of resumption.” the statement reads.
