The Edo State Ministry of Education and Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (EdoSUBEB) have kickstarted the exciting EdoBEST and EdoBEST 2.0 “@ Home Lessons” program for 2022. This initiative aims to foster improved learning outcomes and keep pupils and students engaged during school holidays.

The EdoBEST @ Home program is an innovative online learning platform that provides basic-level pupils and students with lessons and teacher support, allowing them to participate in stimulating activities that can enrich their minds.

Meanwhile, the EdoBEST 2.0 @ Home program offers similar online learning assistance tailored to senior secondary school students.

This holiday program aligns with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commitment to bolster the academic achievements of the state.

Edo State currently holds the esteemed first position in the West Africa Examinations Council rankings for students who obtain a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English Language.

The program encompasses a variety of learning channels designed to facilitate at-home studying using a child-centered and science-based approach. Pupils and students have access to WhatsApp virtual classrooms via classroom links sent to their mobile phones. These virtual classrooms provide unlimited access to learning materials and knowledgeable teachers who monitor progress and deliver engaging lessons.

The WhatsApp classes also feature multiple hours of interactive audio lessons, mobile quizzes suitable for each child’s age, age-appropriate storybooks, virtual interactive sessions between teachers and students, as well as activity packets for self-study.

EdoSUBEB emphasizes the significance of parental involvement in encouraging their children to embrace the home lessons package while enjoying the holiday period.

These comprehensive packages bridge the gap between teachers and learners, offering access to a wide range of resources that will benefit their development during and after the holidays. Edo State is paving the way for enhanced learning experiences and empowering students for future success.
