Despite the hopes of reconciliation within the Edo PDP following previous litigations, Chief Dan Orbih and his cohorts have convened meetings to strategize their own moves, disregarding the constitution of the party. Such actions have caused immense damage to the party’s reputation and cast doubt on the chosen flagbearer for the 2023 general election.

Moreover, it has come to light that Chief Orbih, along with members of the National Working Committee, withdrew housing allowances from the party’s account while simultaneously tarnishing the image of PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

To address these pressing concerns, the stakeholders have lent their unified voice demanding Chief Dan Orbih’s swift suspension or dismissal within a seven-day ultimatum. Failing this, they have issued a resolute warning that, together with stakeholders across the South-South region, they will occupy the state secretariat and halt party activities until their demand is met. The party’s headquarters along First East Circular Road in Benin City may also face closure if necessary action is not taken.

Despite the internal strife, the stakeholders assured their commitment to the success of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa. The stakes are high, and the Edo PDP stakeholders are determined to restore unity and progress within their ranks.
