Edo State Secondary Schools Football Championship will have 12 male teams and 3 female teams jostling for honours from October 15 to 29.
Ayoguiri Grammer School, St. Paul’s Anglican Grammer School, Ogbona Secondary School, Egori Community Secondary School, St. John’s Boys Model Secondary School, and Our Lady of Fatima College are the male schools, and they are all located in Edo North.
The boys’ division is completed by Annunciation Catholic College and Ujoelen Grammer School from Edo Central, while Edo South is represented by Edo Boys High School, Edo College, Eghosa Anglican Grammar School, and Western Boys High School.
The three female teams competing for awards are St. Maria Goretti, Idia College, and Anglican Girls Grammar School.
Col. Charles Asemota, a US Army retiree who organized the group, claimed that the championship was a means of empowering youth and putting them on the right path.
He announced that the winning team would receive N1 million, the second-place team would receive N500,000, and the third-place team would receive N300,000.
In addition, awards and medals for the 15 teams’ achievements will be given out.
