Edo State Empowers Teachers with Digital Pedagogy Training
In a bid to revolutionize the education sector, the Edo State Government has successfully trained over 2,000 junior secondary school teachers on digital pedagogy, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) program.
Mrs. Ozavize Salami, Executive Chairman of Edo Universal Basic Education Board (Edo-SUBEB), addressed the teachers after the 10-day ICT training in Benin City, urging them to be dedicated and committed to their duties.
She emphasized the importance of implementing the skills learned during the training program, stating, “This is the beginning of the implementation and on-boarding of junior secondary schools into the EdoBEST program. I urge you to go back to your schools and implement all the things that you learned here.”
Salami assured the teachers of ongoing support, saying, “We will communicate with you through your principals and education managers, who will monitor and support you in your schools. You will not be alone in implementing what you have learned.”
Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy, Policy, Projects, and Performance Management, Sarah Esangbedo Ajose-Adeogun, highlighted the significance of the training program in driving change in the state’s education sector. She commended the teachers, saying, “You are molding the future of our great state, and we do not take what you are doing for granted. The Edo of our dream will not become a reality without every one of you here.”
Ajose-Adeogun charged the teachers to put their new skills into practice, saying, “Go back to your classrooms and make a difference. Don’t continue in the old ways; go back and impact the children with the new methods of teaching you have learned.”
