Edo State Government Enrolls 15,000 Security Operatives, Pensioners in Health Insurance Scheme

The Edo State Government has launched a free enrollment program for operatives of the Edo State Security Network and Local Government pensioners into the State Health Insurance Scheme.

This initiative, directed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, aims to broaden the scope of the program and ensure inclusivity for all.

According to Mr. Efemwenkiekie Nosa Nesta, Director of ICT at the Edo Health Insurance Commission, the exercise is expected to capture over 5,000 vigilantes and 10,000 Local Government pensioners across the 18 Local Government Areas in the State. This move will not only benefit the operatives and pensioners but also their families, who will now have access to quality healthcare services.

Mr. Nesta emphasized that the enrollment process will also cater to State Government pensioners who missed the previous registration exercise.

“We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to healthcare, and this expansion is a testament to our dedication to the wellbeing of our citizens,” he said.

During a visit to the Egor Local Government Secretariat to monitor the enrollment process, Chief Edogun Bright, the Edogun of Benin Kingdom, expressed his gratitude to Governor Obaseki on behalf of the beneficiaries. “We are thankful for this initiative, which will greatly improve our access to healthcare services,” he said.
