Edo State Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs Embraces Digital Transformation

Prince Dele Obaitan, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Diaspora Affairs in Edo State, has committed his Ministry to maintaining its leading position as the premier state ministry in Nigeria that fully embraces modern technology and digital media marketing.

This commitment was made during a meeting with stakeholders in the tourism sector held at the Ministry’s conference room in Benin City.

The Commissioner revealed the Ministry’s strategic plans for 2023. These plans encompass the formulation of a documented policy on Arts, Culture, and Tourism; regular visits and evaluations of tourism establishments, sites, and locations across the three senatorial districts; organization and participation in local, national, and international festivals, exhibitions and fairs; and the erection of cultural statues at all major points in Benin city.

He emphasized that the evaluations will involve the grading of hotels and other tourism businesses in the State. He also guaranteed consistent training for the management and staff of hospitality and tourism businesses in the State.

A highlight of the meeting was a presentation showcasing the Ministry’s accomplishments for the year 2022, followed by recommendations from various stakeholders.
