Edo State Public Works Volunteers Embark on Physical Verification Exercise

The Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) in Edo State has initiated a comprehensive verification and reassessment process for its staff throughout the state.

Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, the Coordinator of PUWOV in Edo State, announced that the purpose of the headcount is to confirm the identities of the scheme’s officials and improve operational efficiency.

He stated that the verification exercise, which began on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Edo North Senatorial District, is scheduled to conclude on Monday, May 27, 2024.

He mentioned, “The Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) in Edo State has initiated a comprehensive verification and reassessment process for its staff throughout the state.

“The process began today, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in three local government councils in the Edo North Senatorial District, namely Etsako East, Etsako West, and Etsako Central.

“Tomorrow, Thursday, May 23, 2024, the verification and reassessment of PUWOV staff will occur in Owan West, Owan East, and Akoko Edo Local Government Areas.”

Yusuf-Osagie added, “This will be followed by the verification of PUWOV officials in the five local government councils that comprise the Edo Central Senatorial District, including Esan South-East, Igueben, Esan North East, Esan West, and Esan Central, on Friday, May 24, 2024.

“The process will conclude on Monday, May 27, 2024, with the verification and reassessment of staff in the seven local governments of the Edo South Senatorial District, including Oredo, Ovia South West, Egor, Ovia North East, Orhionmwon, Ikpoba Okha, and Uhunmwode.”

The Coordinator of PUWOV emphasized that the verification and reassessment exercise is mandatory for all scheme personnel in the state.
