Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has taken a significant step towards transforming the state’s hospitality landscape by issuing a letter of intent to Shapoorji Pallonji, the preferred contractor for the development of a 170-key international upscale hotel, Radisson Hotel.
This ambitious project, set to be completed within 12–16 months, promises to elevate Edo State’s reputation as a premier destination for international events, conferences, and tourism. The hotel’s development is expected to trigger a wave of economic growth, attract foreign investors, and showcase the state’s potential as a hub for business and leisure.
Governor Obaseki emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “The lack of quality accommodation has denied Edo State the opportunity to host international events. With Radisson Hotel, we will have a world-class facility that meets global standards, complementing our existing infrastructure, such as the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.”
The project’s financing has been secured, and the state government has assured the project team of its continuous support to ensure timely delivery. Governor Obaseki commended Shapoorji Pallonji on their emergence as the preferred contractor, citing their reputation for delivering world-class projects.
Hon. Adaze Aguele-Kalu, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, praised Governor Obaseki’s vision for the hospitality sector, highlighting the project’s potential to accelerate tourism, stimulate economic growth, and establish Edo State as a luxury destination.
