The Edo State Waste Management Board, under the leadership of Managing Director Mr. Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, recently conducted an inspection at the Global Vision International (GVI) facility, situated at 56 Ewa Road, Ikpoba Slope in Benin City.
The primary objective of the inspection was to evaluate GVI’s waste management practices and to assist in categorizing the facility under the oversight of the Board’s Commercial Department, directed by Mr. Martin Akhigbe. This initiative is part of the Board’s commitment to ensuring that organizations adhere to the state’s waste disposal regulations and contribute to a cleaner environment.
During his visit, Mr. Enehita-Inegbenehi commended GVI for its dedication to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance with the Edo State Waste Disposal Regulations. He further underscored the significance of sustainable waste management practices among corporate entities, highlighting their role in realizing the state’s vision for a healthier community.
Enehita-Inegbenehi stated, “Our goal is to verify that your waste management practices align with state standards. This assessment will also help us determine the appropriate category for your facility, enabling us to provide tailored waste collection and supervision services.”
Mr. Akhigbe elaborated on the criteria for categorizing facilities, emphasizing the importance of evaluating the type and volume of waste generated by the organizations. He assured the GVI team of the Board’s commitment to supporting them in achieving compliance and enhancing efficiency in their waste management operations.
In response, GVI’s CEO, Prince Dr. Omon Ebosele, expressed his appreciation for the Board’s proactive approach. He reiterated the company’s dedication to working alongside the state to champion environmentally responsible practices.
