The Edo branch of the Heavy Trucks Owners, Marketers, and Suppliers Association of Nigeria has formally requested the state government to establish a trailer park in Ehor, aiming to reduce accidents on the Benin-Abuja Expressway.

This appeal was made during a delegation’s visit to Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo-Anani, the Coordinator of the Office of the Edo Governor’s Wife, on Friday in Benin City.

Chairman of the association, Mr. Sarahaisu Musa, emphasized that the proposed trailer park would create job opportunities, improve safety, and help prevent accidents along the busy highway.

“Our association serves as a unifying body for truck owners, drivers, mechanics, managers, agents, scrap dealers, marketers, and suppliers across the state and beyond,” he stated.

We are committed to upholding professionalism, safety, and equitable business practices within the trucking industry, while also contributing to community and national development.” he added.

Musa also discussed the association’s collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Interior and 2TOC Solutions Limited to launch the Nigerian Fire Extinguisher Control Programme. This initiative aims to train and empower 1,548 members as Fire Extinguisher Servicing Vendors throughout Nigeria.

In response to the association’s request, Mrs. Okpebholo-Anani assured the delegation that their appeal would be forwarded to the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo. She reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment in Edo State.

“I know that the government of Edo, under the leadership of Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is committed to supporting its residents and businesses for the development of the state,” she affirmed.
