EDSIEC Gears Up for Local Government Elections with Stakeholders Meeting

In preparation for the upcoming Local Government Elections slated for Saturday, September 2, 2023, the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has announced its plans to convene a meeting with key stakeholders in the state on August 24, 2023.

The Administrative Secretary of EDSIEC, Sunday A. Osayande, disclosed that the meeting would take place at the Commission’s Conference Hall situated in Benin City. In a statement, Osayande stated, “This is to inform the general public that the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission is organizing a stakeholders’ meeting scheduled as follows: Date: 24th August 2023; Venue: Conference Hall of the Commission, Plot 116 Oko-Ogba Road, Benin City.”

During the meeting, which will be divided into two sessions, the first session, occurring from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, will be attended by Chairmen/Secretaries of Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Security Agencies. The second session, scheduled from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, will involve other stakeholders, including Leaders of Market Women/Professional Associations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Youth Associations, and Leaders of Religious Organizations.
