#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria: Edo State Youth Parliament Speaker Advocates for Peaceful Protest

Fawaz Muhammad, Speaker of the Edo State Youth Parliament, urged young people to engage in violence-free demonstrations during the planned August 1–10 protest against economic hardship.

At the inauguration of the second assembly of the Edo State Youth Parliament, Muhammad emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and cautioned against exploitation for violent purposes.
“My message to the youth is to embrace peaceful protests and avoid being instruments of violence. By addressing their concerns through peaceful means, their voices will be heard by the relevant authorities.” Muhammad said.
Muhammad also encouraged young people to cultivate their creative potential and develop a resilient spirit to drive positive change.
“Youth are crucial to building a prosperous nation, and their shoulders bear the weight of shaping the country’s future. By adopting the right mindset and promoting peace, they can transform Nigeria’s narrative.” he noted.
As the newly elected Speaker, Muhammad pledged to represent the interests of young people effectively, ensuring an inclusive and representative assembly.
“Collectively, we have the power to shape Edo State’s and Nigeria’s future by amplifying youth voices and driving meaningful progress. I commit to serving with integrity, transparency, and dedication, prioritizing policies that enhance education, employment, and empowerment for our youth.” Muhammad said.
