Erhurun Uneme Community Bids Akeens Ade-Akhani, Esq, Farewell

The people of Erhurun community in Akoko-Edo LGA of Edo State, on Thursday 30th June and Friday 1st July, in a solemn ceremony, bade one of their foremost and illustrious son farewell.

Late Akeens Ade-Akhani was born on 9th August, 1960 and died on Saturday 19th March, 2022 while playing golf in Benin City, a game he loved so much and had played with an uncommon passion throughout his adult life.

Akeens as he was fondly called by family and friends, was a cerebral administrator, lawyer, orator, philanthropist and a budding politician of the progressive hue. He retired from public service as Head of Local Government Administration (HoLGA) from the Unified Local Government Service of Edo State in August 2020, after putting in many years of meritorious service.

In their tribute, one among countless of such, both from the elite and ordinary people, the Erodemah Age Group of Erhurun Uneme wrote;

“You were a leader indeed, impeccable in your attributes and stern in your principles. We will miss your wisdom and pure love from an understanding heart. Your memories will live on. Rest In Peace our great leader”

Late Ade-Akhani was a director at the Akoko Edo Community newspaper. The entire management and staff of the paper condoles with the family of the late barrister and the people of Erhurun, we join the people of Edo to pray for God’s protection on his family, both immediate and extended, and a repose of his soul.
