Fresh facts have emerged on how the ceaseless heart-wrenching screams of a nine-month-old baby, of the kidnapped Ososo Junior secondary school teacher who is still in captivity freed his wife and baby from their abductors at the Makeke Primary Health Centre
Reports reaching the Akoko Edo Community Newspaper narrated that trouble began for the Ilesanmi Samuel family when the baby suddenly developed a feverish temperature that saw his parents rushing him to the Primary Health Centre at about 6pm on the fateful day. Hardly had they been attended to when the kidnappers struck and herded everyone at the centre into the bush.
Reports say the ceaseless cries of the baby unsettled the kidnappers, who, in a fit of frustration and anger, hit the baby’s mother and set her free to go and source money for the release of her husband, a first-time father.
The beleaguered family of the kidnap victim that had eked out a living from his paltry means as a schoolteacher has now been thrown into confusion on how to meet the ransom demands of the kidnappers that have made contact only once to communicate their ransom demand since the incident last Sunday.
Meanwhile, members of the Ososo Community are making a strong appeal to the Edo State Government to save the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area from the scourge of kidnapping. They expressed unhappiness that the recent bush combing carried out by a combined team of security agencies in Edo North Senatorial district was not extended to the local government, which is a border community with Kogi and Ondo States
