I Will Revive Ojirami Dam for Irrigation and Electricity Generation — says Edo Governorship Aspirant

Engr. Gideon Ikhine, a contender for the Edo State governorship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised to revitalize the Ojirami Dam for Irrigation and Electricity Generation.

This ambitious endeavor aims to provide irrigation water for enhanced agricultural productivity and generate electricity to power small-scale industries and businesses.

Ikhine said the Ojirami Dam is a catalyst for establishing a large mechanized farm in Akoko-Edo. The fertile land in this region, ideal for agriculture, presents an opportunity to create one of Africa’s largest farms when fully operational.

In a plea to the public, Ikhine urges thorough screening of all aspirants vying for the governorship role, emphasizing that not all candidates are adequately prepared to address the challenges faced by Edo State. As the sole contender who has conducted comprehensive research on the state’s issues, Ikhine calls upon the people, who yearn for effective governance, to make an informed decision during this critical period of the state’s development.

Ikhine declares, “The power to determine the future of our state lies in your hands, not mine. I promise to deliver on my vision for the people of Edo. With my capabilities, I am confident in defeating candidates from other political parties without relying on external influences.”

To propel Edo State forward, Ikhine stresses the importance of electing a unifying leader dedicated to improving the lives of its citizens. Presenting himself as the most qualified candidate, he aims to position Edo State as a preferred global destination.

Furthermore, Ikhine calls upon pretenders to withdraw from the race, highlighting their lack of understanding of the state’s magnitude of problems. With meticulous research guiding his actions, he asserts that he possesses the knowledge and solutions to fix the existing challenges.

Ikhine asserts, “To lead effectively, I must have the determination to bolster the public service. In four years, all road infrastructure in Edo State will undergo significant improvements. To ensure their upkeep, I will establish a dedicated Public Works Department alongside a regulatory board to oversee construction. Additionally, I will establish asphalt manufacturing plants in each senatorial district of the state, paving the way for sustainable development.”
