The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has decorated seven officers recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Commander of Narcotics in Edo State.
The ceremony, held at the command headquarters in Benin, was led by the State Commander, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju.
In his congratulatory message, Ofoyeju urged the newly decorated officers to view their promotion as a call to higher responsibilities in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
He emphasized that the elevation reinforces the agency’s commitment to enhancing its operational capacity and maintaining a strong stance against drug-related crime in Edo.
The promoted officers, who include Timothy Odu, James Olarewaju, Akpabio Akpan, Anthony Oko, Fidelis Heijirika, Paul Akhazee, and Mohammed Danmusa, pledged their renewed commitment to duty.
On behalf of his colleagues, Timothy Odu assured that they would remain loyal and dedicated in the discharge of their new responsibilities.
The event was attended by senior management staff, fellow officers, and family members of the promoted personnel. Mrs. Omobolaji James, wife of one of the decorated officers, expressed pride in her husband’s achievement, noting that the promotion is a testament to their collective efforts in the fight against drugs.
