The Edo State Government has announced the closure of the state-owned Nigeria Observer newspaper for one month. The closure is part of the reforms of the state-owned media organisations, which aim to improve the quality and efficiency of the media outfit.
The Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, issued a statement on Thursday, directing all existing staff of the Nigeria Observer to report to the Ministry of Communication and Orientation immediately. They will be assigned new duties and responsibilities during the closure period.
The statement also assured the public and the fans of the Nigeria Observer brand that the newspaper will be back soon with better and improved content.
