The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,600 corps members to Edo State for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation programme. The nationwide programme is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, July 29.
Dr. Frances Ben-Ushie, the Edo State Coordinator of the NYSC, announced the deployment in a statement released on Friday in Benin City. She also stated that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony will be held on August 1.
The orientation programme will take place at the permanent orientation camp, situated opposite Igbinedion University, Okada.
“The state governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is expected to declare the orientation course open, while the Chief Judge of Edo will administer the oath of allegiance to the corps members during the ceremony,” Dr. Ben-Ushie stated.
The State Coordinator conveyed the NYSC’s appreciation to the people of Edo State for their continued support of corps members.
“We sincerely appreciate the good people of Edo for their favourable disposition to corps members over the years,” she said. “We further solicit the usual assistance in making the one-year mandatory national service a memorable one for the incoming corps members.”
