Oba of Benin Advocates for Enhanced Security Synergy

His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has emphasized the need for collaboration among various security agencies to tackle the escalating security situation in Nigeria.
He made this call during his installation as the ground patron of the Nigeria Hunters and Forestry Security Service at his palace in Benin.
The monarch highlighted the importance of complementary efforts between conventional security agents and the forest and hunting security service to strengthen the country’s security architecture. He expressed delight at the recognition and emphasized the benefits of forest security in enhancing food production and national security.
Dr. Wole Osatimehin Joshua, Commandant General of the Hunters and Forest Security Service, led a delegation to the palace to install the Oba as the ground patron and seek his royal blessings and prayers. The Oba received a certificate award, presented by Chief Osaro Idha, the Obazalu of Benin Kingdom.
The Commandant General explained that the hunters and forest security service aims to protect and safeguard forests against bandits, killer herdsmen, and other criminal gangs while also playing a complementary role to conventional security agents. The bill establishing the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service has passed its third reading in the Senate.
