Obaseki Approves Downsizing of Ministries, MDAs

In a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resources, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has given the green light for a reduction in the State’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The groundbreaking decision, disclosed by Commissioner for Communication and Orientation Andrew Adaze Emwanta, underscores the government’s commitment to operating leaner and more effectively. Emwanta highlighted the imperative to eliminate redundancy, enhance productivity, and curb wastage within the governmental structures.

Emphasizing the necessity of the downsizing initiative in the face of economic challenges, Emwanta noted, “The Edo State Government is prioritizing efficiency by consolidating and reorganizing the ministries, departments, and agencies to better align with the prevailing economic realities in Nigeria. This strategic realignment ensures that the state government can effectively deliver on the MEGA agenda.”
