Obaseki Approves Long-Awaited Gratuity Payments for 2010 Retirees

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has announced the approval of gratuity payments to pensioners who retired in 2010 from the Local Government Staff Pension Board.

 

According to a notice issued by Mary Omon Arewa, the Acting Secretary of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, the government has invited the affected pensioners to participate in a screening exercise scheduled to take place from Monday, August 26th, to Friday, August 30th, 2024.

The exercise will be held daily from 8 am to 4 pm at the Local Government Staff Pension Board’s office, located in the Pension House, Kings Square, Benin City.

 

“I am directed to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, has graciously approved the payment of gratuities to the pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2010,” the notice states.

 

The pensioners are required to present several essential documents during the screening process, including their letter of retirement, pensioner biometrics, pension identity card, and pay advice. This comprehensive documentation will ensure the smooth and efficient processing of the long-awaited gratuity payments.
