As Edo State celebrates its 31st anniversary since its creation in 1991, Governor Godwin Obaseki has appealed to the people of the state to back his government’s efforts to maintain and improve the institutions of governance in various sectors.

The governor spoke to reporters in Benin City, the state capital, and highlighted the achievements and challenges of his administration. He said, “Edo State has undergone a lot of changes in the past 31 years, with its population more than doubling and its inherited institutions deteriorating significantly.

“This government is committed to restoring and enhancing the institutions that deliver quality civil service, education, and healthcare to the people of Edo State.

He added that his goal is to make Edo State the best in the country in these areas.

He also expressed optimism about the economic prospects of the state, saying, “Benin City has become a magnet for investment and development. Our government is creating a peaceful and business friendly environment, attracting potential investors and making the state an investment hub.”
