Obaseki Charges President of World Medical body on Human Resourcing in Heath Care System

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has passionately urged for a revolutionary shift in human resourcing and personnel development towards transforming the nation’s health care system.
During a momentous meeting with the newly elected President of the World Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, on Wednesday, 19 October, 2022, at the Government House in Benin City, Governor Obaseki emphasized the critical need for a thorough reassessment of the nation’s health care system amidst the ongoing global pandemic chaos.
He said, “There has never been more brain drain than there is right now. Thus, we find ourselves caught between the need and demand for health care increasing and the threat of losing our resources to other countries.”
“Our health care system will need to reevaluate its personnel development and human resource allocation.”
“There must be an alternative approach, as the void we must bridge is quite substantial. That is the point at which we must depend on you.”
The Governor, brimming with enthusiasm over Dr. Enabulele’s appointment as the leader of this esteemed global organization, stressed that this influential role signifies a call to extraordinary responsibility, especially during these tumultuous times characterized by widespread pandemics.
In a showing of gratitude, President of the World Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Obaseki for the unwavering support extended during his inauguration.
Dr. Enabulele also humbly sought to forge even stronger partnerships with the Edo State Government, recognizing the immense potential for collaboration in bringing about transformative change in the health care sector.
Enabulele said: “We are eager to pursue additional partnerships in the areas that were highlighted during my most recent visit with the Edo State Government.
“The issues of strengthening the health system, which is obviously already underway; pushing for more implementable programs that we can use to advance quality care; and strengthening the health system globally, with a focus on Nigeria and Africa.”
