In a recent engagement with the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering enduring peace and security across the state.

This commitment is a cornerstone of the governor’s vision for a thriving and secure environment conducive to both residents and investors.

During the visit by the IAWPA delegation, led by Dr. Amos Areloegbe, the state’s director and coordinator for the South-South region, Governor Obaseki, represented by Chief of Staff Osaigbovo Iyoha, called upon all Edo citizens and stakeholders to join hands in maintaining the state’s tranquility.

The governor’s strategic plan, known as the Making Edo Great Again (MEGA) Agenda, aims to transform Edo into an ideal place for living and prosperity. Central to this agenda is the establishment of a peaceful and united community, which is seen as essential for the state’s advancement.

Significant investments in security and collaborative efforts with key stakeholders have been instrumental in addressing various challenges, including communal disputes, land issues, and crime. These initiatives have successfully minimized such conflicts, and the governor seeks continued partnership to preserve these gains.

Governor Obaseki expressed his administration’s eagerness to fulfill the aspirations of Edo citizens, emphasizing that responsive governance is the essence of their efforts.

Dr. Areloegbe, acknowledging the state government’s successful peacekeeping measures, expressed the IAWPA’s desire to support and collaborate with the government to ensure a lasting peace in Edo State.
