The Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has honoured 82 of its employees for their unwavering dedication and loyalty during the 2025 Long Service Award Ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Okomu community, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The awardees, who had served the organisation for periods ranging from 15 to 25 years, were celebrated with a mix of household items including king-sized beds, wardrobes, dining sets, upholstery chairs, generators, and 32-inch television sets. In addition, each recipient received cash rewards as a token of appreciation for their years of service.
Delivering his remarks, the company’s Managing Director, Dr Graham Hefer, praised the honourees for their steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions to the company’s growth.
“The staff we are celebrating today have demonstrated loyalty and dedication over the years. We are privileged to have individuals who have worked with us for as long as 25 years. Their example is worth emulating,” Hefer said.
The recognition was warmly received by the workers’ union. Comrade Ewansiha Clifford, Chairman of the union, described the gesture as a morale booster, applauding management for acknowledging the sacrifices and diligence of long-serving employees.
“This recognition is a testament to patience and perseverance. To the awardees, I say congratulations—your journey has paid off,” Clifford noted.
Among the recipients was Mrs Joyce Eroje, who has spent 25 years with the company. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the personal and professional growth she experienced during her tenure.
“I received King and Queen-size beds, a wardrobe, and a set of living room chairs. Over the years, the company has trained and equipped us with skills that could help us run a company of our own. It has truly been 25 years of learning and growth,” she said.
