Okpebholo Applauds President Tinubu for Establishing Federal University of Sports in Afuze

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has praised President Bola Tinubu for signing the bill that establishes the Federal University of Sports in Afuze, located in Owan East Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo described the decision as a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance access to quality higher education and promote intellectual growth.

“This landmark decision marks a significant milestone in our commitment to expanding educational opportunities,” Okpebholo stated. He emphasized that the creation of the university reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to advancing education across Nigeria.

The governor expressed optimism that the new institution will offer valuable opportunities for the youth of Edo State and act as a catalyst for socio-economic development both locally and nationally.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to working closely with the Federal Government to ensure the university’s successful launch and sustainable growth.

“We will ensure the timely provision of necessary infrastructure and resources for the university’s smooth operation,” Okpebholo assured.
