Ososo King Joins His Ancestors

The Olososo of Ososo, His Royal Highness Oba Anselm Adeloro Obaitan, ICHAMA II, JP, has joined his ancestors.

News of the King’s passing onto glory was contained in an announcement issued today by the Royal Family and signed by his son, Prince (Pharm) Bamidele Obaitan, Honourable Commissioner of Arts and Culture, Edo State.

His Royal Highness was a founding teacher at the Annunciation College, Irrua, Edo State, before proceeding to the University of Delaware in the United States of America, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education.

He returned home to serve as a Commissioner in the Edo State Judicial Service Commission and later ascended the throne of his fathers in June 1990, as ICHAMA II, the Olososo of Ososo. He reigned very peacefully for thirty -two years.

Oba Anselm Obaitan is survived by his wife, Olori Christiana Abiose Obaitan, three sons and a daughter. Others include two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, many brothers and sisters.

The statement said that final burial arrangements shall be announced shortly.
