The Edo chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the recent attack on the Okpekpe community in Etsako East Local Government Area, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two farmers.
In a statement issued by Chris Nehikhare, Publicity Secretary of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, the party expressed deep sorrow over the murders of Batemue Philip Ebo and Christopher Bello, who were reportedly ambushed while en route to their farms.
“We are deeply saddened by the heinous attack on the people of Okpekpe community in Etsako East Local Government by suspected herdsmen, which led to the gruesome murder of two innocent citizens,” Nehikhare stated.
He further condemned the violence, saying, “We condemn this dastardly act in the strongest terms and send our heartfelt condolences to their families, loved ones, and the entire community during this difficult time.”
The PDP called on Governor Sen. Monday Okpebholo to take immediate and decisive action to address the escalating security concerns in the region, urging that measures be implemented to prevent further incidents.
