Revolutionizing Healthcare: Edo Sets Up e-Clinic in Rural Communities
The Edo State Government is introducing e-clinics in Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state, revolutionizing healthcare access through telemedicine and ensuring affordable, efficient, and high-quality healthcare for the people of Edo.
Dr. Mrs. Obarisiagbon Eloghosa, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EPHCDA), emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to bringing top-notch healthcare services to even the most remote and underserved communities in the state.
At the inauguration of the e-clinic in Evbueghae Community, Orhionmwon local council, Dr. Eloghosa, represented by Dr. E. lsoken, the Director of Primary Health Care in Oredo Local Government, highlighted the state’s robust efforts to decentralize the healthcare system and establish a world-class framework for efficient and high-quality healthcare delivery.
The e-clinic will work hand in hand with the recently launched telemedicine hub in the state, ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare services to the residents of Evbueghae Community.
To guarantee the sustainability of the healthcare facility, Dr. Eloghosa assured the community that the state would provide an ample number of well-trained staff and closely monitor their performance to ensure efficient service delivery.
Engr Osazuwa Osarumen, the General Manager of the Edo Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), commended the community-driven development process that identified the need for the health center in Evbueghae Community. Represented by Barr. Alonge Imodu, the Operations Manager of Edo CSDA, Osarumen disclosed that the CSDA funded ninety-seven percent of the project, with the community contributing a three percent counterpart funding.
He called upon the community elders to wholeheartedly embrace this project as direct beneficiaries of the health center, encouraging them to take ownership and ensure its success.
