Shaibu Hosts Swedish Football Scouts

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, rolled out the red carpet to greet a distinguished delegation of international football scouts from Sweden known as Nexer Aiding Group Dreams Football.

With a resolute focus on restoring Edo State’s glorious sporting era, Shaibu expressed his determination to reclaim the state’s position as the undisputed champion of sports among all the states in Nigeria. Emphasizing that Edo State is inherently the birthplace of sporting excellence in the country, the administration is working tirelessly to transform this vision into reality.

As part of their mission, the football scouts’ delegation has arrived in Nigeria with a clear objective: to identify and nurture young football talents between the ages of 15 and 19 years.

Collaborating with local coaches, they will be joined by an impressive team of ten international coaches. What’s more, football giants such as Aston Villa, Leicester City, Bayern Munich, and an Italian club are expected to grace the scouting period with their presence.
