Stella Obasanjo Hospital: ASR sets to fulfill promise of World-class Medical Equipment
The Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative for Africa (ASR) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Edo State Government by assuring them of the timely provision of world-class medical equipment for the eagerly anticipated second phase of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital.
During an inspection visit to the construction site located on Country Home Motel Road, Benin City, Mr. Nakama Keri, the Multilateral Coordination Specialist for Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative, expressed confidence in fulfilling their promise.
Accompanied by esteemed individuals including the contractor, Sani El Halaby, and representatives from Tanit Medical Engineering, the consulting company overlooking the hospital plans, Mr. Keri was guided on a comprehensive tour of the facility alongside Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. George-Osasuyi O, the Medical Director of Stella Obasanjo Hospital.
Before the tour, a constructive meeting at the Edo State Ministry of Health took place, focusing on the preferred healthcare equipment to be financed by ASR. Prof. Obehi Akoria, the Commissioner for Health, expressed sincere gratitude for ASR’s unwavering support in equipping Stella Obasanjo Hospital.
Prof. Akoria also appealed for a continuous and fruitful partnership to further enhance healthcare services in the state.
Responding to the Commissioner’s remarks, Mr. Nakama Keri lauded the state’s determination and proactivity in securing the release of the equipment funds. He highlighted that ASR is simultaneously handling projects across Nigeria and Africa, acknowledging Edo’s exceptional effort in pursuing the funds compared to other states and nations.
Additionally, Mr. Keri assured that the funds would be disbursed to the state promptly, pending the completion of necessary final procedures.
Mrs. Sarah Esangbedo Ajose-Adeogun, the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Strategy, Policy, Projects, and Performance Management, expressed great satisfaction with the progress of the hospital project. She commended ASR for their readiness to provide funds, emphasizing that the Stella Obasanjo Hospital expansion is a fitting testament to Governor Obaseki’s administration.
Mrs. Ajose-Adeogun reiterated the governor’s unwavering commitment to transform the hospital into a medical city, promising that upon completion, it would surpass global standards and be one of the finest in the world.
