Team Edo Shines at South-South Zonal Elimination, Secures 8 Spots for National Sports Festival

Team Edo has made a stunning impression at the just-concluded South-South Zonal Elimination for ball games in Benin, securing eight qualifications for the forthcoming 2024 National Sports Festival (NSF) scheduled for May in Abeokuta.
The team will represent the South-South zone in various sports, including volleyball (female), beach volleyball (female), football (male and female), cricket (male and female), and handball (male and female).
Amadin Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Edo Sports Commission, praised the athletes’ hard work and determination, saying, “We are thrilled by the performance of our athletes. Their dedication has paid off, and they have once again proven Edo’s strength in sports.”
Enabulele assured the athletes of full support and preparation as they gear up for the National Sports Festival.
He also commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his commitment to sports development, noting that the governor’s support and enabling environment were instrumental in Edo’s successful hosting of the zonal elimination.
