President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), effective immediately.
The announcement, made via a statement by presidential spokesman Mr. Bayo Onanuga, also revealed the appointment of Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.
Dr. Aminu, a seasoned academic and administrator, holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. He brings a wealth of experience to NABTEB, boasting 28 years in teaching, administration, research, and policy development. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Aminu served as Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
“President Tinubu urged the new NABTEB Registrar to leverage his vast experience to drive transformational leadership in the agency, ensuring it continued to assess and certify skilled Human Resources essential for Nigeria’s industrial growth,” the statement conveyed.
In addition to Dr. Aminu’s appointment, Mr. Rasaq Olajuwon has been named UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), and Mr. Tunde Ajibulu will serve as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).
Mr. Olorunnimbe, the newly appointed Chairman of the UBEC Board, brings extensive experience in innovative leadership and a proven commitment to youth empowerment and education to his new role. As the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives across the education, entertainment, and sports sectors.
Mr. Olajuwon, before his appointment, served as Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).
“President Tinubu enjoined the new appointees to strengthen the human capital needed to drive educational reforms and enhance service delivery at UBEC, ensuring greater access to quality basic education nationwide,” the statement concluded, highlighting the President’s commitment to improving education across all levels. These appointments reflect the administration’s focus on bolstering technical education and ensuring quality basic education for all Nigerian children.
