Falz Crowned Highest-Grossing Nollywood Lead Actor in 2024

In a remarkable achievement for the Nigerian film industry, actor, rapper, and songwriter Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has been recognized as the highest-grossing lead actor in Nollywood for the year 2024.

This accolade was announced by FilmOne Entertainment, a leading film distribution company, through a post on their official Instagram account, @filmoneng.

Falz’s remarkable success is attributed to his standout performance in Funke Akindele’s hit film, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” which has resonated well with audiences and critics alike, bolstering his box office collections.

He is followed closely by Yoruba Nollywood star Odunlade Adekola, who secured the second spot with contributions from a diverse portfolio of films including “Beast of Two Worlds,” “Lakatabu,” “Alakada Bad and Boujee,” and “American Japa.”

Ranking third is Kunle Remi, with his notable performances in “Muri & KO” and “Queen Lateefah.” Timini Egbuson takes the fourth position, buoyed by his roles in “All’s Fair in Love,” “Ajosepo,” and “Meeting Funmi’s Parents.” Uzor Arukwe rounds out the top five with films such as “What About Us,” “Thinline,” and “Criminal and Family Gbese.”

Ayo Makun secured the sixth spot with his work in “The Waiter,” “All’s Fair in Love,” and “3 Working Days.” Meanwhile, Tobi Bakare shines in seventh place for his role in “Farmer’s Bride.” Tomiwa Tegbe comes in ninth with contributions to “Wives on Strike 3” and “The Uprising,” while Akah Nnani completes the top ten with his performance in “A Ghettos Love Story.”

This recognition of Falz alongside other prominent actors highlights the continuous growth and global appeal of Nollywood, underscoring the industry’s ability to produce engaging content that captivates diverse audiences.
