NiMet Forecasts Thunderstorms and Rain in Edo, 32 Other States

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting thunderstorms and rain across Nigeria from Wednesday to Friday, with Edo State expected to experience these conditions.

According to NiMet’s outlook, released on Tuesday, Edo State should anticipate a cloudy atmosphere with chances of morning rain. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms with rain are expected over parts of Edo State during the afternoon or evening hours. Similar weather patterns are predicted for Thursday and Friday.

NiMet has advised the public to take adequate precautions, as strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur. Residents are urged to fasten loose objects to avoid collisions and avoid driving under heavy rain. The agency also advises disconnecting electrical appliances from sockets and staying away from tall trees to avoid falling branches.

Airline operators are advised to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for effective planning, while residents are encouraged to stay informed through weather updates from NiMet’s website.
