The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, has approved a further extension of the grace period for the enforcement of tinted glass permit regulations until October 2nd.
This announcement was made on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in an official statement released in Abuja.
The extension comes in response to a substantial increase in applications submitted through the official portal, indicating a growing public adherence to the directive.
According to Adejobi, the extension is intended to allow ample time for thorough vetting of applications, ensuring permits are issued only to deserving and qualified individuals.
The additional time will also facilitate ongoing refinement of verification procedures, encompassing both digital and physical checks. This is aimed at upholding the integrity of the permit system and preventing any potential misuse.
DCP Adejobi reiterated that the official application platform remains https://possap.gov.ng and cautioned citizens against using any unofficial channels.
The public is also urged to report any instances of extortion, hidden fees, or unauthorized processing to the appropriate police authorities via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
The statement concluded with a commendation for the public’s cooperation, emphasizing the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to balancing public convenience with robust security measures to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
