The Edo State House of Assembly has confirmed four additional individuals as commissioner-designates, paving the way for their appointment into the state executive council.
The confirmation followed a formal request from Governor Monday Okpebholo, who had nominated the individuals for key positions in his cabinet.
The House had previously confirmed eight commissioner-designates, including Kassim Afegbua, on August 20. The latest confirmation brings the total number of commissioner-designates to 12.
During the plenary session, lawmakers adopted the report of the House Committee on Rules and Business, which recommended the confirmation of four out of the five nominees. One nominee failed to appear for screening.
The confirmed commissioner-designates include Vincent Osas Uwadia, Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen, and Charity Amayaenvbo.
The House unanimously confirmed the four nominees without objections.
