Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has congratulated Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, as he marks his 92nd birthday, recognising his lifelong commitment to using personal success as a vehicle for public good.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Patrick Ebojele, and made available to journalists on Friday in Benin.
Okpebholo said it was with immense joy and profound gratitude to Almighty God that he felicitates with Igbinedion, whom he described as an esteemed father and illustrious son of Edo State.
The governor described Igbinedion’s remarkable trajectory spanning business, aviation, education, broadcasting, and community infrastructure as a testament to faith, vision, and unwavering dedication to uplifting society.
“At 92, we celebrate not merely longevity, but an extraordinary legacy of faith, vision, enterprise, service, and generosity. Your influence extends well beyond the state into national development discourse.
“For five decades, Igbinedion has channelled resources into education, healthcare infrastructure, community development, and humanitarian interventions. I frame these investments as reflective of a deeper commitment to measuring success beyond personal gains,” Okpebholo said.
The governor stressed that true greatness is not measured only by what people achieve, but by the institutions they build, the opportunities they create, and the lives they touch for generations yet unborn.
He prayed that the Almighty continues to grant Chief Igbinedion good health, strength, and many more years of impactful living in the service of humanity and the development of Edo State and Nigeria.
